Online Video Chat: Random, Live, 1-on-1

Video calls that open right in your browser: live, face to face, and only ever the two of you.

random

Random Video Chat with One Tap

Random video chat here is a single button. Tap Start a Video Chat and the system looks among the people who are online for someone to pair you with. When it finds one, the call opens: her picture fills the screen and yours sits in a small window in the corner, so you can see what she sees.

That is video chat with strangers online at its simplest: no profile to read first, no message to write, just a face and a hello. If the two of you don't click, press Next. It unlocks after a short countdown, and the next online video chat with a stranger starts from there.

Before a random call connects you get a brief look at who you have been matched with. Join right away, let the countdown join for you, or skip to the next person. And if the other person leaves while the call is still connecting, you are matched again automatically, so you are never left staring at an empty screen.

Prefer to choose? Open See Who's Online, look through the people who are on, and call the one you like from her card or her profile.

  1. Tap Startone button, nothing to fill in
  2. She appearsfull screen, with your picture in the corner
  3. Talk, or NextNext unlocks after a short countdown

in your browser

Live Video Chat, Right in Your Browser

Online Chat is live video chat online without an app. Everything runs in the browser you already have, on a phone or a computer, so there is nothing to download, install or update. The camera and microphone are only requested when a call starts, and your browser asks you before either one is switched on.

Video Calls That Feel Like Talking in Person

A live video call is the closest thing online to sitting across from someone. You hear her laugh as it happens, you can tell when a joke lands, and the awkward bits pass in a second instead of hanging in a text box.

Every call is one-to-one. Nobody else joins, nobody watches, and there is no group to perform for. That is what makes a live chat online video call here feel like a real conversation rather than a broadcast.

On screen, her video fills the frame and yours sits in a small window, so you always know what she sees. The controls stay out of the way: mute your microphone, turn your camera off, flip between the front and back camera on a phone, or hang up.

Free Online Video Chat to Start

01Free to start

Open the page and start a free online video chat as a guest. Free video matches are handed out every day; the system decides how many you get.

02Then coins

Once those are used, you pay with coins bought in advance: a random match costs the amount on the Start button, and a direct call costs that person's own price.

03Always told first

Before a call starts costing coins, a notice appears in the call. You can end the call at that point, or at any point.

control

Your Camera, Your Call

The first time you start a video chat, your browser asks whether Online Chat may use your camera and microphone. You can say no, and you can take the permission back later in your browser's site settings.

During a call, the camera button switches your camera off and on, and you can end the call or press Next whenever you like, without giving a reason. Recording or screenshotting the other person is against our community guidelines.

live

Watch Live Streams

Not every moment has to be a call. Live streams are hosts broadcasting to whoever drops in: open one, watch, and type in the live streaming chat to say hello or ask something. If you like a host, follow her and you will find her again next time.

A live stream and a video call are different things: in a stream, the host is on camera and everyone else watches and types; in a call, it is just the two of you, both on video. Streams have a button to ask the host for a one-to-one video call, so a stream can turn into a private conversation. Some streams are kept for followers or need a ticket to enter; you are told before you go in.

devices

Video Chat on Phone or Computer

Online video chat works on any phone, tablet or computer with a camera, a microphone and a recent version of Chrome, Safari or Edge. A few things make the picture better:

Steady connection. Wi-Fi or a strong mobile signal; video stutters on a weak one.

Light in front of you. A window or lamp facing you beats one behind you.

Up to date. If the camera won't start, update the browser and reload the page.

One app at a time. Close other apps that may be using the camera.

More fixes are in the Help Center.

questions

Online Video Chat Questions

What do I need for online video chat?

A phone, tablet or computer with a camera and a microphone, a current browser such as Chrome, Safari or Edge, and a steady internet connection. No download and no account.

Can I turn my camera off during a call?

Yes. The call has a camera button that switches your camera off and on again. Keep in mind that most people on a video chat expect to see who they are talking to.

What's the difference between a video call and a live stream?

A video call is one-to-one: you and one other person, both on camera. A live stream is one host broadcasting to everyone who is watching; viewers stay off camera and talk by typing in the stream's chat.
